smudge & her dad

 

Ember "Smudge" Draffin and her dad David have been writing books together since she was 7. Many of them started as bedtime stories, and others were ideas her dad kept for her, dreamt up long ago.

 

We love the wilderness and animals and books and the future and the world of imagination. We take six week hiking trips every few years and Smudge has walked to Oregon and climbed the Alps and lived with elephants in the Cambodian jungle.

 

We live with Smudge's mom Laura in California with a dog, three cats, a guinea pig, chickens, and fish.
